An Electrical Development Engineer is a member of the QED Innovations team and develops innovative RF coil products for clinical MRI systems. The ideal candidate shall possess experience with RF coil design, prototyping and release. The candidate shall also work efficiently with a cross functional team including mechanical design, quality assurance, regulatory, manufacturing, sourcing, documentation control, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop, prototype, test and optimize RF circuits, coils and related technologies for MRI system. Testing RF coil may require overseas travel
- Design for reliability, manufacturability, serviceability and cost
- Prepare and review RF coil product development documents and program release
- Verification and validation of RF coils
- Troubleshooting prototype and pre-production RF coils
- Work with RF coil development cross-functional teams including: management, program managers, electrical engineers, quality assurance, regulatory, manufacturing engineers, operations, sourcing and document control
- Perform product development activities for successful New Product Introductions (NPIs)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field is required. Advanced degree is a plus
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of electrical and circuit design experience. RF coil development is a plus
Skills and Abilities
Required
- Technical skill in RF coil circuit design, PCB layout and RF coil prototype
- FMEA knowledge
- Proficient in MS Office software, Outlook and the Internet
- Excellent communication skills both orally and written
- Quick learner with strong multi-tasking skills
Preferred
- Project Management experience
