Quality Electrodynamics is searching for a Procurement Manager
The Procurement Manager is responsible for all functions associated with Procurement department. This position is responsible to develop and lead a team of procurement specialists to appropriately source and procure materials necessary to meet customer and business expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct supervision of Procurement staff members. Complete HR responsibilities for Staff members including setting and executing annual Goals and Objectives, conducting quarterly/annual reviews, hiring and coaching
- Responsible for the management of key procurement performance metrics such as supplier on time delivery, right first time, inventory value, etc.
- Lead and contribute to the development and execution of sourcing strategies for all commodities to guide sourcing decisions during new product/part development. Strategies should be influenced by supplier history, willingness and capability to deliver value in the form of quality, innovation, cost, flexibility, on time delivery, lead time, etc.
- Work closely with engineering and operations to plan and procure material and tooling to suppliers in alignment with sourcing strategies to support the launch of new product introductions, supplier transfers, material obsolescence and cost reduction efforts
- Continue to develop procurement staff members to understand commodity manufacturing processes, constraints, opportunities; and quality and cost impactors enabling them to add increased value to the organization
- Develop annual cost reduction and inventory management plans and execute accordingly
- Persistently and strategically negotiate pricing, terms and lead times with suppliers to drive down costs and internal inventory carrying costs and liabilities
- Negotiate, write and execute purchase agreements and contracts w/ favorable terms in alignment with sourcing strategies and execution plans
- Drive improvements in procurement standard work processes including escalations due to delivery/quality issues, invoicing/payables issues, and ERP database management & reporting
- Participate in the coordination and execution of new supplier selection and qualification
- Responsible for contributing to the annual coordination and execution of year end physical inventory, standard cost roll and inventory revaluation, and continual improvement plans in these areas each year
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Communication, Business or related field
- Five years’ minimum experience with increasing responsibility in procurement management for manufacturing companies
- Experience in supplier cost control and negotiation techniques
- Experience in vendor escalations preventing production interruption
- Experience in supply chain strategic planning
- Previous direct supervisory experience
- Experience leading cross functional teams to achieve organizational goals
Preferred
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
Skills and Abilities

- High degree of professional integrity, ethics and confidentiality
- Capable of proposing, collaborating and executing a strategic plan
- Detailed knowledge of daily standard work required to complete the procurement function of a manufacturing organization
- Fast learner with multitasking capability in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer skills in MS Office, ERP and PLM systems
- Strong leadership qualities and ability to lead a team
- Clear writing, interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
Preferred
- Capable of coordinating and executing a supplier qualification audit
- Medical device industry experience
- Knowledge of communication & logistics associated with dealing with international customers and suppliers
