Quality Electrodynamics is searching for a Test/Controls Automation Engineer
JOB SUMMARY
The Test/Controls Automation Engineer will initiate and manage continuing engineering, cost reduction and process improvement projects including installing and troubleshooting industrial equipment, test equipment and custom software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use expertise in Test Systems Programming technologies and project management skills to provide prompt and efficient support to production to keep lines running and maximize Manufacturing’s capability to meet customer satisfaction, quality and cost goals
- Provide NCR (Non-Conforming Material) and ECO (Engineer Change Order) support, including creation and review, within your team and other teams as needed
- Extensive technical and process support of multiple departments, including Line Production, R&D, Service, Quality, Purchasing and planning of low volume, high complexity coil manufacturing in an FDA regulated environment
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline with 3 years’ experience
OR
Associates degree in technical discipline, with minimum of 10 years engineering experience
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline with 6 years’ experience
OR
Associates degree in technical discipline, with minimum of 10 years engineering experience
EXPERIENCE
Required
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a professional environment at Engineer level supporting test systems programming
- Test Systems Programming experience including Lab View programming, embedded software, equipment programming, troubleshooting and process improvement
- Experience installing and troubleshooting electronic industrial equipment
Preferred
- Minimum 6 years of experience working in a professional environment at Engineer level supporting hardware and software systems integration programming
- Experience leading transition to paperless production system
- Experience using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S and/or other related principles
- Experience in managing data analysis and trending
- Experience with RF Coil manufacturing, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME), OR New Product Introduction (NPI)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required
- Proficiency in translating test and production instructions into specifications for Test and Inspection Automation programming; Liaison with contract Software Developer, Electrical Engineers, Team Leads, and Assembly Techs
- Capability of coordinating major production facility upgrades/transitions
- Proficiency supporting conversions from manual testing to automated data acquisition
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to explain technical or specialized issues to others unfamiliar with the matter
- Versatility, along with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Able to work both independently, as a member of a team, and as a leader of a team
Preferred
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft DevOps, Source Control, Visual Studio
- Familiar with C#, C+, C++, Java Script or similar languages
- Process validation, including development of validation protocols for FDA regulated products
- Expertise in technologies or processes related to RF Coil production (RF electronics, drafting, ISO/FDA requirements, PCB/SMT, MRP processes and software, etc.)
- Able to manage opposing interests and resolve conflicts
- Competency in any ERP or PLM software (SAP, Agile, Dynamics GP, etc.)
- Familiarity with PCB design software (PROTEL, ORDAD, EasyPC, etc.)
- Self-directed, self-motivated and able to work in a cross-functional team environment
