ISMRM – Hiroyuki Fujita Named Fellow
Dr. Hiroyuki Fujita, Quality Electrodynamics’ Founder, President and CEO, Named Fellow of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine
MILAN, ITALY – Hiroyuki Fujita, Ph.D., was bestowed the distinguished honor of being named a Fellow of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) at the Society’s 22nd Scientific Meeting and Exhibition in Milan, Italy. Fellows are selected based on their significant and substantial contributions to research and education in the field of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). ISMRM has over 6,000 multidisciplinary members only 5% of which receive this distinguished recognition.
“To be voted by my peers and luminaries in the field of MRI, I am both humbled and proud. I look forward to continued involvement in the Society and the development of cutting edge technology to further the field of MRI,” said Fujita, Founder, President and CEO of QED.
Since joining ISMRM in 1997 Fujita has held many positions, delivered lectures and received various honors within the society. A few highlights from his list of impressive accomplishments include recognition for distinguished service during 2009 – 2010 and 2010 – 2011 as a reviewer for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and the Outstanding Teacher Award for the course, RF Engineering, in 2011. He served on various committees including the Scientific Program Committee and Magnetic Resonance in Medicine Editor-in-Chief Search Committee, and was the Chair of MR Engineering Study Group during 2003 – 2004 and 2013 – 2014. In addition, Fujita is a member of the Japanese Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (JSMRM) where he served as an International Communication Committee member (2005 to 2008) and is the recipient of the 2004 International Investigator Award. Dr. Fujita is also an Adjunct Full Professor of Physics and Radiology at Case Western Reserve University and of Electrical Engineering at The University of Queensland.
