Panelist Hiroyuki Fujita Post-Crisis Global Economy

Hiroyuki Fujita, PhD Panelist “The Sun Also Rises?: Japan’s Potential in The Post-Crisis Global Economy”

post crisis global economy PanelistsDr. Hiroyuki Fujita was a panelist alongside Bill Emmott, Jesper Koll and Fred Katayama as they discussed  Japan’s potential opportunities  in the post-crisis global economy.  The program was recorded and broadcast on NHK World’s GLOBAL AGENDA and its website.

Where Japan has led, the western world has largely followed, with manufacturing losing competitiveness, financial sectors hitting trouble, technological change challenging old industries, and ageing demographics imposing heavy burdens on public finances and productivity. But Japan’s early experience of these changes also means that some Japanese corporations and sectors have already begun the process of adapting. What are the potential opportunities for Japan in today’s world? In this program, a group of prominent panel members including former Editor-in-Chief of The Economist, Bill Emmott, discussed the future role and strengths of Japan in this new global economy.

Dr. Fujita is the Founder, President and CEO of Quality Electrodynamics (QED), an advanced medical device manufacturing company.  QED designs, manufactures and distributes magnetic resonance (MR) imaging equipment for global original equipment manufacturers including Siemens Healthcare, Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation, among others.  Dr. Fujita is a frequent invited speaker for international audiences and a published scientist and author.
